Ideas for next year
« on: October 01, 2009, 12:45:34 PM »
If any one has any ideas for new venues for next year which you think may be worth pursuing give us a shout. Forestry Commission or Private.

If any companies want to know how they can help us or how we can help them please contact us. We need as much support as possible. We have had some great support from some great companies which has been much appreciated.

We feel the series has great potential with your support!

what about the other side of the valley at kidland, opposite the existing track loads of potential there surely. i'll help digging no bother over the winter?

Yeah fingers crossed. We have put a proposal forward to the land owner we should hear something soon. The opposite side has about 40m extra elevation and I would say that 60% of the hill is as steep as the steepest part of the existing  track.
Once again the land owners main concerns are unauthorised access so no scouting about boys or it will be over before it started.

Definate maybe! The farmer is very keen and he was open to the idea of some jumps added which would make it more interesting! We are going to have a month riding and scouting before we release anything.

Northern Champs?  There is a Sourthern Champs so surely there can be a Northern Champs.
I'm pretty fast when I need to be - especially if 4 big Austrian grippers are coming at me

Yeah we need to look into the Northern Champs.
I can see the offer of double points should draw in some numbers!
Leave it with us we still have dates and venues to line up.

I notice the SDA and the British Downhill have released dates for the 2010 season, it would be handy to know the Northern dates asap in order to work out which series to enter as there is also the Pearce and Caesrws series to consider.

We will be looking at the dates over the next couple of weeks but generally will be doing our best not to clash with other series.

This might be a daft idea but here goes....

What about a team event e.g. me and 4 mates get together and form a team - drop the slowest time to leave 4 results and combine them.

I think this would probably get you more entries and make it more competitibe between groupd from different tracks, venues etc.

Just a thought.

Nice one Wayne in theory I can see how your idea would be good for team spirit.
I guess it would be up to me to get the calculator out and start adding up times after each race run which would not be fun. Not sure how the prizes would work either.
Still its an idea and if anyone has any comments or other sugestions we would love to hear them.
We are currently working on lining up some new venues. Once we have more news we will let you know.
As for dates we guess they will be the same as this years but again we will let you know asap

Yeah If its the Forestry Commission land down there!?
Carl had a look down there last year! If anyone has any contacts or leads pm us or email us at info@northerndownhill.co.uk
At this moment we are more edging towards new private venues, but it still might be worth another look.
