Keep em peeled for scum in the Liverpool area!

Keep em peeled for scum in the Liverpool area!

Thieves broke into Team ChainReactionCycles/Nukeproof manager Nigel Page’s garage in Liverpool on Saturday night and stole seven mountain bikes, one of which has already been recovered (Team issue Nukeproof Scalp). We would urge you to contact the police or Chain Reaction Cycles directly (with subject line “Stolen bikes”) if you have any information about the theft. The bikes stolen were: • Raw finish Nukeproof Mega • Black Nukeproof Snap • Black Intense SS2 (with Easton seatpost, not adjustable post […]

A Year With The Trek Remedy

It’s fair to say we are fans of Trek Remedy’s here at Descent-World, I’m on my second, and Gaz traded his Intense in for one earlier in the year. It’s about a year since I took delivery of the Remedy so it’s seen a fair amount of mileage under its wheels. So what changed from the Remedy of old? The introduction of the Scratch into the line-up allowed Trek to focus the Remedy as a long travel trail bike, rear […]

Innerleithen MTB Racing’s Mini DH

Following on from the first round of the Winter DH race last weekend, this race was orginized by local Innerleithen MTB Racing and I-Cycles is a pure old school, pushup to the start and have as many runs as you like. One thing it did have in common was the weather conditions were pretty much the same. I thought about using a quote from Hodge for the whole report as it sums it up pretty well – mud, rain, mud, […]

Rd1 Alpinebikes Winter DH Race

The downhill race scene kicked off in Innerleithen with the first round of the Alpinebikes winter race. The weather running up to this weekend was somewhat wet and windy, especially Friday night. The car park area at the bottom of the hill was 2/3rds underwater Saturday morning so the finish area was unusable.  Remember when this race used to be called the Winter Wet n Wild, very apt for this round anyway. Saturdays practice was the usual stop start checking […]

Innerleithen Winter DH Enduro

Innerleithen MTB riders along with I-Cycles kicked of the winter racing here at Innerleithen with an Enduro DH event which went down a storm with the entrants. Many riders commenting that it was the best event they had competed in, and to cap that the best run event.  Praise indeed but the format was relaxed and friendly the tracks were a mix of everything the hill at Inners can throw at you without being to extreme. Riders set out early […]

661 Gravity Enduro Series Launched

Downhill is still my first love when it comes to mountain bikes, and it’s still what keeps me most interested as a fan, but fact is, it’s not what I enjoy doing myself when I am out riding, I still ride for the buzz on the downs, but I’d rather get myself to the top than rely on tractors and trailers these days. I know I’m not alone, and clearly so do the trio behind the new 661 Gravity Enduro […]

Safe As Part 2- Pragmasis Security Products

A while back we tested the Asgard bike store, perfect for keeping your pride and joy safe while not cluttering up your house or flat. Once in there how do you best keep them locked up? Chances are that if your bikes warrant a £500 shed then they are going to warrant some serious locks to keep them in there, initially our hopes had been to run a full on test on a range of locks. It soon became obvious […]

A word from Lewis Buchanan

It turned out to be a freezing cold morning for this my first video interview, but hey we live in Scotland and it’s November and were hardy folk up here. Lewis agreed to this a while back – way before he was killing it out in Canada getting that 2nd place behind Gee Atherton. After that he was on a high for the last WC round in Windham where he got a top 20 finish. There he moved on to […]
