Danny Hart Wins 2011 UCI World Champs

UCI World Championships 2011, Champery Oh my God! We have all just got a lesson in how to ride a pushbike. In conditions that could only be described as atrocious a small lad from the North of England schooled everyone else in the World and truly earned those Rainbow Stripes. Danny Hart, World-bloody-Champion! Coming from a great season that has seen him twice lose out to a near-perfect Aaron Gwin, Danny lifted his game and threw down the kind of […]

Innerleithen MTB Mini DH series Rd2

While everyone in the industry/bike scene seems to either out at Eurobike and then of to Champery living the dream, back here at Inners the Innerleithen MTB crew along with Steve Deas were putting on the second round of the mini DH series for the young up and coming stars of the future.  I missed out on the first round to my regret as watching some of these kids as young as ten yrs old was a great sight, some […]

661 Gravity Enduro RD3 Innerleithen

661 Gravity Enduro RD3 Innerleithen

Innerleithen played host to the 3rd round of the 661 Gravity Enduro series. With the town hosting it’s annual Gala day on the same weekend the race day was shifted from Sunday to Saturday to allow the riders a wee party on Saturday night, unfortunately this did have a knock on effect on entries with some struggling to get the Friday off for practice & qualifying. Having been down at Inners the previous weekend I had practiced the course in dry […]

2011 Scottish Champs – Killin

Killin in the name of!…..SDA Scottish Downhill Championships supported by Chain Reaction Cycles Funny old race this- more like a Scottish race of old, rather than the 2011 Scottish Champs. A few factors contributed to this- the push up, open hillside venue, and depleted entries made for a friendly, lower-key Championships than in previous years, albeit impeccably organised by the usual suspects at the SDA. The reason for depleted numbers were due in part to the date clash with T […]

TweedLove “Dual Slalom”

A brightly coloured-polyester kind of a night at Glentress. BBQ, late night Hub cafe opening, Hub bikes for a demo night ride. The Dual Slalom is back, and is in the field behind The Hub, organised by Rich Latimer and The Bike Track People. Head to head racing down a parallel course, push up, switch courses and go again.  The weather for the event was just what you’d want, a nice bit of late sun in the evening to chill […]

Leogang iXS European Downhill Cup

After hosting the World Cup a week ago, Leogang was the venue for the third leg of the iXS European Downhill Cup. A total of 356 competitors from 26 countries lined up at the start, but it wasn’t the quantity but rather the quality of the starting pack which attracted attention. That Leogang Bike Park has now made an international name for itself on the mountain biking scene is not least due to the fact that it hosts top notch […]

Round 2 of the 661 Gravity Enduro took place this past weekend. Unfortunately injury at Round 1 meant I wasn’t there to report in person so we’ll let videos from Singletrackworld and Campbell Coaching do the talking. Round 3 takes place at Innerleithen on 15th July. 661 Gravity Enduro Round 2 at Kielder from Singletrack Magazine on Vimeo. Rd 2 of 661 UK Gravity Enduro Keilder Forest from Campbell Coaching on Vimeo. Results Overall 1. Rob Cooksley (Bad Ass Bikes) […]

Tweedlove ‘Glentress 7’

The flagship “Glentress 7” sponsored by Endura kicked off the the week long Tweedlove biking fest on Saturday with a large enthusiastic entry of riders from all levels of fitness and age’s. Teams of 2,3 and 4 were entered along with the hardy fit solo riders, some of the team names were quite well thought out like “Shrek & DonkeyRide” “The three mustgetbeers” and my favourite “Pin it ya fairy”. The trail for the weekends race was a new climb […]
