Ben Reid of Ireland, one of the most stylish wee riders ever...people take note.
Clean sharp kit always makes a great photo.
After being chuffed with the results from my first day shooting with my new camera at the Fort http://www.flickr.com/photos/douglascook/sets/72157600396740300/ but slightly less enamoured about the lack of light I thought a speedlight would be in order. As is the case in most purchases I make, a cheap speedlight turns into an expensive speedlight which then turns into some radio triggers to do the whole shebang properly. I know the mutts nuts cost a lot more but £116 on these bad boys did make me sweat a little, seeing as this is supposedly a secondary hobby to riding bikes.
Due to having no spare time to even have a life lately we haven't updated the website of late......new stuff here http://www.ianlinton.com/
of my street between twelve minutes past and twenty-six minutes past one on Sunday 8th July some blokes will be riding their push bikes towards Canterbury, should be good as we'll only have to walk to the end of the road. So no stress...just a bit of a bun fight to get to see anything, its going to be very doubtful that we're get any meaningful photos unless I can get on top of the phone box on the corner.
I have just saved myself over £35 !
If like me you have you have short arms and long pockets, you'll be amazed at the price match nonsense i have just come across...
Jessops have a website www.jessops.com. Jessops have another website www.tecno.co.uk
On www.jessops.com and in their retail outlets the portaflash LS1 light stand is £34.99.
on www.tecno.co.uk the portaflash LS1 light stand is £9.04.
SO:
Go into your local Jessops, ask for a Portastand - or anything else for that matter - and ask for a price match with their own Tecno website.
The total for one lightstand and a universal bracket inc. delivery of £3.99 was just £17.73.
The sales guy in the shop was amazed, but he stood by the price match. Maybe Jessops aren't as bad as i thought.
Happy shopping...
UPDATE:

Today is the official bring a friend to What The Duck day.
If you've not seen or heard of WTD then pop over here for a squiz.
It's my favourite daily comic strip and reminds me a lot of the early Calvin & Hobbes, but with a definite Photography bias. Readers are encouraged to suggest a title for each day's comic strip.
Any how, go and sign up today and receive a printed copy of todays strip in the post.
So,
Back from up Fort William way this evening, taking photos all day... Managed 3 SDAs and 2 NPS on the canter now, with the camera, which has been good fun. Headed up with Doug and his mate Gordon, started off from the top of the gondola, and walked/photographed our way down the hill over the course of the day. Foggy to start with, thousands of midges, but a good hike nonetheless.

A couple of weeks back I clumsily dropped my trusty Fuji S7000 on my kitchen floor, breaking the lense. After being quoted up to £180 from local camera shops I found out that the nice people at www.fujifilm.co.uk do a flat fee £99.99 repair service (which includes an extension to your warranty of 12 months) or, a very tempting trade in service to get yourself a shiny new model.
No prizes for guessing which option I went for.......
Even though it was really wet today, Dunkeld is still a very special place...favorite of the day is Duncan Holyhead. This one reminds me of a very early DW wallpaper way back with Stuart Edgar, Fraser will remember that one.

This shot was from last weekend before Gary Forest went to the World Cup in Champery. You can see the free ride tracks above Caddon Bank, across the other side of the valley. Oh that's Innerleithen by the way...
I've had the old version of this camera for 4 years now and has been excellent, in fact some of my favourite pictures have been taken with it.
