So,

Back from up Fort William way this evening, taking photos all day... Managed 3 SDAs and 2 NPS on the canter now, with the camera, which has been good fun. Headed up with Doug and his mate Gordon, started off from the top of the gondola, and walked/photographed our way down the hill over the course of the day. Foggy to start with, thousands of midges, but a good hike nonetheless.

Despite mixed feelings on the forum, it seemed like a lot of people were being pretty positive about the course - one thing that will need serious attention before the Worlds, is spectator access. It's all very well and good sticking a bridge through the bog for riders, but the whole area around is going to be a hellish mess if people are just going to be expected to wade through peat bogs - it's the usual muddy story for spectators lower down the course too.

It is a hell of a hike from top to bottom, especially through the centre of the course, which is a total 'mare between the first and second fire road crossing. Still, this is all stuff that shouldn't be too tricky to sort out, and I suspect I'm just moaning because I fell on my arse into some stinking mud around that area. One thing... will anyone ever bother hitting the big wall ride?

Anyway, enough blethering. Peat won, Moseley won, rest of the results are on the SDA site, and here's a photo of Steve (whose mug, along with Tracey's, now graces a gondola up at Nevis Range).
