Just landed: One up Components Bash Guide

One Up Components have been making a name for themselves for creating products that people need, that shed a lot of the excess money wasting and just do the job well. Richie Rude has been putting their latest Bash Guide to the test in the EWS and again first impressions seem good; simple, neat and durable looking . The guard will work for different size chainrings which I guess is great for riders looking to swap to a smaller front ring for big climbing days.

One Up tout this guide not just for “Enduro racers”, it’s also meant for the DH rigs. Is an upper guide alone enough for DH and will it stand up to the abuse? We’ll find out soon.

Here’s the blurb from One Up-

“The OneUp Bash Guide was developed with input from EWS World Champions, Richie Rude and Jared Graves. Reinforced Nylon bash guards and a back plate cut from 8mm thick 7075-T6 aluminum, ensure that the OneUp Bash Guide can handle the biggest hits, but at a weight of only 102g (34T) you may forget it’s even there.”

Included are 3 different bash guides to cover from 28t-36t chainrings.

Oneup_30t23
The 28-30t option.

Oneup34_2
Set up with the middle size guard (32-34t).

oneup_36T2
Opened up for running with 36T rings.

Retailing for $79 (or about £55) ,it looks like another well thought out product from the Canadians. This guide can be fitted with just a set of allen keys so we’ll be getting it bolted on and tested asap.
