We’re just getting news in from the other side of the globe – no not the EWS ( more on that when we get it ) that Bryn Dikerson has taken out the Oceania DH champs, beating out George Brannigan ( Who crashed twice ) . Alan Columb, a local pinner who made strides on the WC circuit last year took out the female win.

The race, held in Queenstown’s now world famous bike park, was well attended and saw close racing throughout. The “Oceanias” broadly mimic our Euro DH champs, except that riders actually turn up for this race, and it holds some esteem, as well as valuable UCI points.

Bryn Claimed a fine win, just over 2 seconds ahead of George Brannigan.

Jimi Ramsay is a Pinner and a mad man! Anybody who has ridden this bit of track at Skyline Queenstown will testify to its brutalness! Race run hucking from the Steve Peat Syndicate rider! Queenstown Mountain Bike Club |We should also add Jimmy is a tough Northerner and is ok!

When in QT you need to watch out for Lizards!

Things were loose up the hill, with large parts of the track being on the rooty side.

Bryn Dikerson, your oceania champion.

James Allan sent over these recap images, if you’re in NZ make sure you hit him up for your snaps – but be quick as he’s usually photographing Rhianna or Lewis Hamiltion!
