Fetish Bike DH Series Rd1 Innerleithen

The first Fetish Bike winter downhill race run by Mike Marsden’s Borderline Events took place at the weekend in Innerleithen.  Being a winter race the weather is always a risk, don’t know if that was the reason for the small entry of a 130 odd riders but anybody that decided not to race missed out on a great weekends racing.  Track was a straight forward old school Inners classic taped by Joe Connell, pretty much the Gold run but just after the middle fire road you kept left down the fire break and took a left into the old xc track then a right down into one of the old tracks onto the motorway, down into the arena out the bomb-hole round the berms and into the finish in around 3.30 – 4 minutes for a good time.

Four women racing this weekend in four classes but it was youth Lottie Mallen-Martin who was the fastest of the day in 4.35.25

George Gannicott took his first junior win by a huge 13 seconds this weekend on the new TR45, second place went to Morgan Gulland with I-Cycles Ross Wilcox in 3rd

John Young took the masters win by a couple of seconds over Kris Atkinson with Mark Weightman in 3rd

David "Tally" Tallontire was racing his first veteran race this weekend and took the win over Alistair MacLennan with 3rd place going to I-Cycles Martin Hodgson
