May Fresh Produce
We’ve had several boxed of goodies arrive with us at DWR towers this week ready for fitting to our Trek Remedy test sled and given a good thrashing over the Summer.

First up are the new Mountain King II treads from Continental. Good for “All Mountain”, “Aggressive XC”, “Enduro” or whatever you want to call it, basically they look perfect for going downhill fast and being able to get back up in a decent time too. Just what we need for a Summer of Enduro Racing.

Next up from Sunline is their V-One handlebar. I’ll admit I’ve been pretty loyal to Easton Bars over the years and tend to keep them under 700mm wide so I’m looking forward to trying these for shape and also to see how their uncut 745mm width works for me.

These pedals I’m particularly excited about. I’ve only ever used Time pedals when it comes to clipping in, their simple, reliable and pretty bombproof. I’ve been on their Z Control for over 5 years now and they do all of the above things pretty well but are not the sexiest or the lightest; the new X Roc S lose a good amount of weight, has more adjustment and looks a bit nicer too. I can’t wait to try these out!

Away from Descent-World I have a number of things I am involved in, one being a wee cycle club called Velo Club Moulin. When I say wee, we do now have some UK and Euro champions in our midst and also a great clothing sponsor in Endura who do a great line in custom clothing for any type of riding. This is their MTB short sleeve jersey but you can get anything you want from full skin suits to DH race gear via their custom clothing arm.
We’ll be giving all these items a good thrashing over the coming weeks, check back later in the summer to see how we got on.
