Val Di Sole – Saturday [4X]
Saturday at Val Di Sole brought us a little practice session for the downhill boys and the 4X finals. With a gap of around 5 hours, a few Brits headed downstream in the river which runs through the valley to cool off. Meanwhile the cross country guys and gals diced it out on their tech course. Some of us even managed a few runs on the hill, on the trails either side of the downhill course…only to get stuck in the XC triangle.
The big thing today was the 4X, not much to report that you haven’t probably already seen on freeecaster but Katy Curd cleared the massive 4 pack on the pro line, she and Anneke Beerten were the only gores doing so and Anneke won and Katy came in third.
In the mens, it was good to see Scott Beaumont back and making it through to the third round after a prolonged absence with injury. Will Longden was also showing some form making it to round 2 but it was the usual suspects of Prokop, Rinderknecht, Greaves and Number 4 who eventually progressed to the main. Greaves was then pushed wide in turn three during the main to give Rinderknecht the win.
Tomorrow is downhill final day and it;s going to rock!! Gee vs Greg is what it’s all about.
