Val Di Sole – Friday [Qualifying]

At last the sun came out and dried the downhill riders out. After yesterdays downpour the forecasters promised good weather and they delivered. The course was still a little damp in places but by mid morning the dust was back and the riders seemed happy with the conditions. Roots are polished and the thread like ones are still in the loamy mud but all in all everyone is upbeat and happy.

Qualifying was a bit of a nightmare for Minnaar, the world cup points leader took a digger just above Sam Hill corner and lost some valuable points in the overall title chase to Gee Atherton, who capitalised most on Minnaars mistake…but as we all know championships are won on your bad days.

Emmeline Ragot took the fastest women’s time from Trek World Racings Tracy Moseley. Sabrina Jonnier rounded out the top 3.

Notable results are of course Josh Bryceland 4th, Danny Hart, 6th and Tracey Moseley 2nd.
