Break the Cycle & Beyond the Threshold In Edinburgh
The first Scottish screening of Ronan Taylor’s “Beyond the Threshold” and we’re also showing Andy Yoong’s “Break the Cycle“. It’s too cold and wet to get out on the bike at the moment, so why not head over to Edinburgh’s Bongo Club on March 11th to watch to of the newest mountain bike films to hit our screens this year.
We’ll be kicking off the evening with Beyond The Threshold which showcases some of the year’s best downhill action in Scotland, England and Wales. The SDA series, World Cup and regional races are part of the high-adrenalin mix. So too are rider sections and interviews with top pros, national contenders and local riders.
Then from across the Irish sea comes Break The Cycle, a film about downhill mountain bike lifestyle in Ireland. While showcasing some of the most amazing Irish landscapes, Break the Cycle will give you an insight into the lives of ten of the top Irish riders, to capture how they have managed to break the cycle of everyday life, through their passion for riding their bikes.
The event is taking place at the Bongo Club in Edinburgh on Thursday 11th March. Doors are at 7pm with the first film starting at 7.30pm. Entry is £5 on the door. ID will be required at the bar, while U18s are welcome so long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Raffle prizes TBC.

I have a copy of Ronan Taylor’s latest film “Beyond the threshold” it is a fantastic watch with some superb footage, put together with the skills and artistry of someone of way more experience than Ronan has. The viewing at the Bongo club did not in any way do this film justice. Because of various “Technical difficulties” experienced by all those who paid money to view this film ( which I personally put down to incompetence on the part of the venue staff,) Ronan was left high and dry. In my opinion, the managment and staff at the Bongo Club should be ashamed at the way this event was managed. If you are in any doubt, go to the vtt website, buy the film and see what I mean.

Wow this is packed with all the the things that make up a great mtb film that you just wanna watch again and again. The film shows downhill at its best along with a kicking soundtrack which helps the footage come to life. Always good to see the legend that is Steve Peat and whats with that dude riding in a sock ! The guy who put this together is way ahead of his time!
