Descent World – descent-world racing, riding, bicycles & dirt

Neko Mulally (Audio Interview)

The 16 year old gravity rider from Reading in Pennsylvania has had an impressive year despite the fact that he’s not yet old enough to race World Cups; that will come next season.

Most notably, at Whistler this year during the Crankworx events, and racing Pro Men, Neko finish 4th in the Dual Slalom (behind world class talents Kyle Strait, Brian Lopes and Johannes Fischbach), and then in the Canadian Open Downhill finished 5th, just seconds behind World Cup stars Brendan Fairclough and Steve Smith.

Neko rode as the forerunner for the Canadian rounds of the UCI World Cup, and is now dead keen to hit the circuit next year in his first World Cup season. Currently a member of Specialized Team America, Neko is open to race for a new program in 2010.

We managed to pin Neko down and get a few choice words from this articulate 16 year old American…is he the new renaissance?

  1. Good luck to Neko next year. I’ve watched him in the US Gravity East series the past couple of years and he really is a talented rider. Specialized Team America would be mad not to have him on their roster next year.

  2. Neko is a phenom and we are glad to have him competing in the Gravity East Series, (www.gravityeastseries.com )we bought his truck with the finals Pro Purse and as a family friend, he is an awesome individual as his brother Logan, watch Logan in the GES for 2010, I feel the series preparded Neko well for the World Cup Series having competed in the GES at 8 out of 11 races and still captured a Championship title (#1) we are proud to see a GES racer make the leap to World Cup status, we are always supportive of the Juniors, that is why Logan is being watched now he may be the next phenom out of America.
